Title: THE ROOT – FUNCTION OF THE ROOT
Short description: Within this activity, children will become familiar with the concept of “the root” as a major part of the; structure of the plant, its functions, and why it is so important for the life of the plant. By demonstrating and exploring live plants, children will discover the different parts of the root and the various root systems and types of plantss. They will learn interesting facts about how roots help the soil. During the activity, children will get practical experience of how we treat and care for roots when we plant or transplant plants in a pot or garden; through a quiz, children will discover through a game which plants’ roots are used for human consumption.
