Title: THE LIFE CYCLE OF THE PLANT
Short description: With this activity, children will learn about the life cycle of the plant by watching a short video and exploring each phase – seed, sprout, young plant, flower, bud, fruit and decomposing (for annual plants). Within the activity, children will watch a 3-minute short video which will show the development of a bushy plant in a time lapse, working with Montessori material (auto-idiomatic maps) to track each stage of the plant’s development. Children will explore real plants at different stages of development, thereby reinforcing their knowledge and new terminology. Kids will play a fun game where each one will perform movements and postures from the different phases of plant development.
Target age of children: 4-6 years old
